It has been awhile since I have posted anything. Its amazing that sometimes when you ask God to use you he takes you by storm. This Project-44 has been a crazy journey already!
I even think that I am starting to learn some patience. I didn't think that was even possible.
As Christian we need to figure out how to separate the thing of this world, from the things of God. I have done some examination lately, and if you really examine what goes through your head, and motivates you or consumes you it is seldom worthy or wholesome. If satan can just keep us focused on taxes or finances or some other worldly persute we are that much less likely to ever truly find him. Think of all of the random things the consume you life.. are they of this earth or of the Kingdom? We are on this earth but not to be of this earth. I think if we can observe what occupies us and figure out where it comes from we will be very surprised by what we find. And probably not in a good way. For myself I figure I spent about 2% of my time with God and the rest of the time on things of this earth. That is very humbling because I love the Lord with all of my heart.
Think about it for your own life, t.v, gossip, work, health, etc, etc. I am trying to kick it up to 5% for a start, that sound lame but that is a 150% improvement and a good start. Peace, and pray for us!!

GOATS ARE PRETTY COOL
It is amazing to me that when we feel called by God to do his work the first knee jerk reaction is to try and find consensus among men! Do we really think that God needs our approval before we act on his behalf? When enough men get together for long enough they figure we should go kill people in Iraq. And we should go for wise counsel from such as this! There is no three days grace period like buying a gun before we should follow God, and the urging of the HOLY SPIRIT.
This reminds me of a story, so be afraid. I really like to hunt. And once on a hunting trip I was invaded by a herd of goats. [ more than once actually] I wanted nothing more than for these goats to go away and leave me in peace and quite. I want nothing more than for all of these goats to get up as a unit and go somewhere else, but it never happens like that ! ! ! IT ALWAYS STARTS WITH ONE GOAT, HE GETS UP, STRETCHES, AND STARTS WALKING DOWN THE PATH, AND THEN WE FIND CONSENSUS BECAUSE THEY ALL GET UP AND FOLLOW HIM ! ! ! Even goats know how it works. The point is that if we are urged by the Holy Spirit maybe we should just get up, stretch, and start walking.

STANDING IN STUPID
No matter who you are or what you have been through, sometimes you will get right in the middle of a stupid spot and think that it is a good place to stand. That is when you hope that God has provided you with good friends who will help you see the situation for what it really is. I have had my share of problems in life but with salvation comes forgiveness. The bible says that God can no longer even see my past sins. They are as far as the east is from the west, and that is pretty far. If I decide somehow to " right here right now " stand in the middle of stupid please don't let me stand there for long. Never forget that Jesus Christ absolutely leveled the playing fields for everyone. From a starving child in Zimbabwe, to the highest executive in New York we are all the same in the eyes of God. And if you think anybody else's opinion matters you are wrong. We as sinful humans are good at pomp and arrogance, and pride, and we like to inflate our importance, but we are all the same in the eyes of the lord. When we can figure that out and act accordingly this world will be a much nicer place. DON'T YA THINK ? ? ?

LOST THE PLOT
When you comoe back again would you bring me something from the fridge? Heard a rumor that the end is near but I just got comfortable here sigh. Let's be blunt. I'm a little distracted. What do you want? Headaches and bad faith are all that I've got First I misplaced the ending then I lost the plot. Out among the free-range sheep while the big birds sharpen their claws. For a time we stuck with the shepherd but you wouldn't play Santa Claus. sigh. Let's be blunt. We're a little distracted. What do you want? Once we could follow, now we cannot. You would not fit our image, so we lost the plot. Once we could hear you, now our senses are shot. We've forgotten our first love. We have lost the plot. When I saw you for the first time you were hanging with a thief And I knew my hands were dirty, and I dropped my gaze. Then you said I was forgiven and you welcomed me with laughter I was happy even after. I was counting the days when you'd come back again. we'll be waiting for you When you comin' back again? we'll be ready for you Maybe we'll wake up when.. maybe we'll wake up when you come back again. lies. Let's be blunt. We're a little unfaithful What do you want? Are you still listening? 'Cause we're obviously not We've forgotten our first love We have lost the plot. And why are you still calling? You forgave, we forgot. We're such experts at stalling that we've lost the plot lost the plot When you come back again would you bring me something from the fridge? Heard a rumor that the end is near but I just got comfortable here.

Discombobulated
Discombobulation happens ! Its kinda like going in the other room for something and forgetting what it was when you get there? I hate that, but it seems more and more like what you think you are doing turns out to be something different entirely. Discombobulate:
to confuse or disconcert; upset; frustrate: The speaker was completely discombobulated by the hecklers.
- Do you go to Church to find/follow God?
- Do you tithe to your Church to "help" people?
- Ever decide you could make a difference?
- Have you ever poured your heart and soul and everything that you have into "growing your church" ?
I often find that I think these things and it turns out that it just never works! When we realise that God is the power and the glory, and that it is not about us we will be much closer to the truth. We alone will change nothing. We must be open and sensitive to the urgings of the Holy Spirit, then we will begin to get the picture. It is called following God for a reason. But we are all too eager to try to lead. We will lead the king of glory??? This discombobulation is no small wonder!! We need to seriously rethink our approach. I for one am running full blast down this road, and I need to know that I am in fact going in the right direction......

HONORABLE
I saw a man buried today. It was a military burial, and very moving. They made a ceremony of seven men, pall bearing the casket, firing 21 gun salute, playing taps and folding the flag and presenting it to the widow. It probably lasted twenty minutes and was a nice and fitting tribute, to a find upstanding christian man.
They spent twenty minutes Honoring this man for his service to his country, for his active engagement in war, and for his sacrifices. He well deserved that, and it was a fitting honor. But to reduce what he did to a twenty minute ceremony, and a prayer?
Is this what we have reduced God to? It seems so familiar somehow. A twenty minute sermon if you are lucky, a couple of songs, and an amen! Is this all that we have for God?
We should have God up front, out front and in complete focus at all times. We should not only honor him with our prayers, presence, gifts, and services, but with our whole lives every minute of every day. Wouldn't that be HONORABLE?

DON'T BLINK
Life is short. When you are young it doesn't seem that way, but trust me it is! My best friend in the world (beside my wife) lost his father yesterday, and it makes me think. That means that my father could be next, and then us! Death is mysterious, suprising and quite often sudden and untimely, but it is absolutely unavoidable. The one sure thing about living, is that you are dying!
SO WHAT ARE YOU LIVING FOR? God put us in the wonderful position to be his hands and feet and give this girl a car. It changed her life!
I should have saved that money and bought me a flat screen t.v, or replaced my car, which after all is three years old!
I will have lots and lots of regrets in life but I hope they will be fewer and farther between. One thing is for sure, I will never regret this, and I will never regret following Jesus!

When I was a kindergartener, my dad became very ill and 3 years later
had a heart transplant. The physical limitations that came from this
hindered his ability to be able to work on a car for me or for our family
to be able to financially be able to acquire one. Through the work of
the incredible people who have now founded this organization and the
love of Christ, I was able to get a great car that I love! I'm very, very
excited and very much looking forward to being able to drive. I could
not possibly begin to thank them enough for such an amazing gift that
means so much to not only me, but my family. Equally as touching was the
way that it touched the people involved. To see my dad so happy that he
could see his youngest child get her first car was fantastic. I see
this organization not only helping people, but fully and completly
helping to change lives.

TRULY FOLLOW
We should never find ourselves waiting for death to take us away from a mediocre faith and into the arms of Jesus.
The gospel of Jesus and how we are to live surprisingly are the same thing. Why wait to see Jesus in Heaven when he is here with us now and we have the promise of the power of the Holy Spirit to show us his face. True faith shows us how to participate with God here and now. We were NOT sent here to occupy a pew and be pleasant. We have a God given mission! Believe it, receive it and embrace God. Do you think he sent you here so you could die and return to his presence? There is an in between called life, laid out and ordained by God and we can't just ignore that.
Truly follow, truly look for him and be receptive to his calling.
It is time that we awaken from our slumber!

WHERE TO BEGIN?
To be a follower of Christ there are options, thankfully. Sometimes you find that you are not totally happy with the status qou and are not sure what to do. You can sit back, you can sit back and complain, or you could just try something a little different. When Jesus Christ died on the cross and his spirit ascended into heaven the shroud in the temple ripped from top to bottom, and GOD came out into the world. So in response we now go into the temple every Sunday to look for him! There has to be a better approach.
The name Project-44 is for the 44Th book of the bible-Acts. Our goal here is to internalize the Acts of the disciples and live "that". Please pray for us that we might successfully not just go to church, but try to BE the church.
